Plenary meeting of Jiangsu NPC delegation opens to media

More than 120 reporters from nearly 80 domestic and international media outlets attended a plenary meeting of deputies from Jiangsu Province at the third session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing on March 7. Following deliberations on issues including economic recovery, employment and rural revitalization, the province’s nine NPC deputies answered questions from reporters. 

Regarding Jiangsu’s pivotal role in fostering new quality productive forces nationwide, Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, emphasized the province’s focus on industrial innovation and strengthening the real economy. Jiangsu will simultaneously drive the transformation of traditional industries and accelerate the growth of emerging and future sectors, aiming to establish globally competitive advanced manufacturing hubs. The province plans to expand its pro-innovation platforms, further reform the scientific and technological management system, and facilitate the application of research into productive forces.

In response to a question on agricultural modernization from a journalist with Cuba's Prensa Latina news agency, vice governor Chen Zhongwei detailed three-pronged progress achieved through dedicated campaigns by the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government. The achievements include increased grain planting area, total output and yield, improvements in the rural environment and output value, and growth in farmers' and village collective incomes. According to Chen, Jiangsu’s rural development will prioritize the intelligent and green transformations, integrated approaches and efficiency, thus cultivating new quality productive forces in agriculture.

Liu Jingyu, chairwoman and Party chief of CALB, a company specializing in lithium batteries and battery management systems, highlighted the collaboration ecosystem in Jiangsu, where government, enterprises, universities and innovation-focused organizations work together to accelerate the industrial application of innovative technologies.

To enhance development capabilities, Jiang Li, chairman of Nanjing-based environmental technology company TICA, urged private enterprises to commit to independent innovation and international collaboration.
