An inconspicuous old factory building on Yuhua South Road in Nanjing City has become a popular destination for children to explore intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in perhaps their favorite way - playing with toys.
Sha Anqiang, a graduate of Nanjing University of the Arts, has transformed the facility into a unique museum that houses nearly 7,000 ICH works collected from over 20 provinces.

After graduating from university in 2006, Sha visited hundreds of folk artisans to collect these items.
He and his team also incorporated modern design elements to transform heritage crafts into trendy, fashionable toys, using materials such as clay, textiles, bamboo, wood and paper.
This space has been recently recognized as an entrepreneurship base for ICH items. "I hope to integrate these ancient crafts, rich in history and culture, into our lives in a more engaging way," Sha said.
