Also known as the Double Ninth Festival, Chongyang Festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, which is October 11 this year. In Chinese, the number nine is a homonym for "jiu", symbolizing longevity and good health. Traditional celebrations include outings to admire chrysanthemum, climbing mountains, eating Chongyang cakes, and drinking chrysanthemum wine.
