International diplomats explore Jiangsu in 4-day visit

Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a delegation comprising 28 representatives from international organizations and diplomatic envoys, including those from Japan, South Africa and Ireland, is visiting Jiangsu Province from March 25 to 28.


In the first two days, they explored Suzhou City, witnessing its blend of traditional charms and modern development. Their itinerary included the Classical Gardens, the ancient Shantang Street and the Suzhou Museum, showcasing the iconic Jiangnan culture. At the Suzhou Industrial Park, the group engaged with local enterprises and participated in exchanges, gaining insights into the park’s efforts in fostering new quality productive forces and potential cooperation opportunities in new energy and other fields.

Selim Belortaja, Ambassador of Albania to China, said Suzhou has achieved many changes and rapid progress compared to his first visit to the city five years ago.

During her visit to the popular Suzhou Museum, Lebanese Ambassador to China Milia Jabbour expressed confidence in the unique role of culture in promoting Suzhou’s development.

The Jiangnan culture has fueled Suzhou's modernization, leading to the development of a distinct industrial system and innovation ecosystem in the Suzhou Industrial Park. The park’s exhibition hall displays national flags of more than 80 countries, illustrating the dynamic foreign investment from across the world. Irish Ambassador to China Ann Derwin highlighted the presence of many Irish enterprises in the park, expressing pride in the close economic ties and optimism for future cooperation opportunities.
