With an overall length of 229 meters, the 11.6-meter-draught vessel, which is registerd in Liberia, arrived at the port loaded with 56,000 tonnes of grains from Brazil.

According to the development plan, Nanjing Port is positioned as a major coastal port in China, serving as an important gateway for the development of the Yangtze River basin and China’s central and western regions.

In recent years, Nanjing Port has continuously built comprehensive intermodal transportation system that integrates expressways, railways, the Yangtze River, and the sea shipping with elevated services. This endeavor includes the construction of 12.5-meter deep waterway and a railway dedicated to cargo transport at the Nanjing Longtan Port Area.

In 2023, Nanjing Port Group achieved a cargo throughput of 113.5 million tonnes, up 2.7% year-on-year. Its annual cargo throughput has exceeded 100 million tonnes for eight consecutive years since it became the first port along the Yangtze River to set the record in 2016.
