The Purple Mountain Laboratories (PML) will host the 3rd Cyberspace Endogenous Safety and Security Development Conference in Nanjing from December 6 to 9, along with the sixth "Qiangwang" (cyberspace power) International Elite Challenge on Cyber Mimic Defense, according to a press conference on November 22.
Wu Jiangxing, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and also PML’s chief scientist, stated that the event will focus on the theme of "new development of digital economy and new paradigm of cybersecurity" and integrate a conference, a competition and an exhibition.
The conference will comprise an opening ceremony, a main forum, eleven sub-forums and a closing ceremony. The exhibition will showcase innovations related to endogenous security in cyberspace.
Among other activities, the event will announce PML’s major achievements as well as the release of a white paper report. it will also launch a talent training and knowledge system through a partnership program, present best practices, and conduct an awarding ceremony.
The "Qiangwang" challenge, initiated in 2018, will introduce new features and fields to test cyberspace security systems based on the China-proposed mimic defense theory. This year, the challenge will emphasize safety concerns amid the rapid development of the intelligent connected car sector. Two new categories will explore the application of the mimic defense theory for artificial intelligence, and assess the security of mainstream cell phones.
