60 souvenirs were announced as winners during the onsite review of the third edition of the Jiangsu Present Program, which took place at the Laodongmen Historic District in Nanjing on October 13.

A total of 91 enterprises from the province participated in the program organized by the Jiangsu Consumer Council. The honored souvenirs included tea sets from Nanjing, nut carving crafts from Suzhou, mooncakes from Wuxi, pastries from Xuzhou, and hawthorn berry juice from Lianyungang.

Also on the list are scented sachets made in Mazhuang Village in Xuzhou, which are beautifully designed and come in various shapes.

Chen Cheng, an inheritor of the province-level intangible cultural heritage of wood carving, showcased a gift box with two hangers, priced at 400 yuan. Featuring hand-carved mandarin ducks, the clothes hangers made from camphor wood have a pleasant fragrance that can repel pests, according to Chen.

The event also showed innovative offerings made using common ingredients. For example, in Nanjing, juhuanao, an edible wild plant known as Chrysanthemum nankingense, is often used to make egg soup. Matcha pastries and ice pops flavored with the plant were displayed during the review meeting, attracting the attention of many local residents and tourists.

Judges for the souvenir evaluation came from the market supervision department, the culture and tourism department, e-commerce platforms, universities, and industry associations. The final score also took into account the online voting results.
