Barka came to China to study in 2016. When talking about his first impression, his key word is "different".
"So much here is different from what I've ever heard before." Before coming to China, Barka had watched some Chinese movies, but he didn't know much about China. His knowledge about China was more based on information on social media. However, after coming to China, he was surprised to find that he had no safety concerns, and he was also deeply impressed by the friendly Chinese people. “They would always come to my assistance whenever I need a helping hand. I highly value the support and kindness of my friends.”
Chinese culture has also left a deep impression on Barka. "China is a fascinating country with rich culture." In his spare time, Barka would seize the opportunity to explore and experience traditional Chinese culture. "Chinese ceramics, architecture, martial arts... It's a little hard to understand, but I'm still very interested." Barka said.
This is Barka’s seventh time to spend the Spring Festival in China, and he is very familiar to the traditions. "My Chinese friends often invited me to celebrate the Spring Festival together." About the Chinese New Year, Barka has wonderful and sweet memories. "Their families welcomed me, and I received a lot of red envelopes. We had delicious dinners, played games, and went to see dragon and lion dances in the streets. "
"My teacher recently taught me a few words of New Year greeting, which are 'Happy New Year! Wishing you lots of luck and a prosperous year of the Rabbit! May your new year be as lucky and lovely as the rabbit! 'And they are also my best wishes for 2023." Barka carefully wrote down his New Year wishes on the spring festival couplets.
