The SHOW JIANGSU photography program, part of efforts to look back on the 10-year development achievements of the province, opened at the World Literature Hall in Nanjing, a new cultural landmark to promote the city’s status as a UNESCO designated City of Literature.
In the program, journalists from Agence France-Presse, Euronews, Focus magazine of Germany, Kyodo News, the Voice of Vietnam and other media outlets will visit Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Taizhou, Nantong and other cities along the Yangtze River. They are expected to record the province’s economic development and stories of cultural heritage and the everyday lives of people during the visit.
Yolanda vom Hagen, a German photographer, said her works in the past few years covered a broad range of topics, such as the province’s cuisine, technological innovation, rural vitalization, ecological protection and beautiful nature. She said each photo shoot features a different theme and has allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of the province and China too.
Dan Sandoval, a contract photographer for AFP now working in Shanghai, said he has visited Jiangsu’s cities of Taizhou, Zhenjiang and Nantong for many times. He said each city has its unique stories and he likes to capture the beauty of the nature and people's lives with his lens.
