The project was initiated by Yang Zhaoqun, a master of Jintan-style paper-cutting craftmanship, also a national intangible cultural heritage. It took a year and a half to complete the work at 101.2 meters long and 1.16 meters tall. The work highlights landmarks and heritage sites of the vast waterway connecting the northern and southern parts of China.
