Nanjing Underwater World has introduced two Asian small-clawed otters, the smallest otter species in the world.
Gao Liuming, manager of the aquarium section, said the two otters, both out of captive breeding, are just over one year old and each around 3kg heavy.
Asian small-clawed otter is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List and placed under level-II wildlife protection in China. Being active, the otters like to move around in warm water and is good at swimming and diving.
During the Spring Festival holiday, Nanjing Underwater World will host a series of events. Visitors born in the Year of the Ox will also enjoy a discounted ticket price of 90 yuan.
