NANJING, Feb. 21 -- Nine patients infected with the novel coronavirus, including a 10-month-old baby, have been cured and discharged from hospital Thursday in Nanjing, capital of eastern China's Jiangsu Province.
The infant that had been treated in the Tangshan District of Nanjing No. 2 Hospital was the youngest confirmed case in Nanjing, said Yi Yongxiang, director of the hospital.
"Compared with adults, the baby's condition was not serious. He had symptoms like fever and cough, and our medical staff tailored a treatment plan according to his weight and constitution, which worked very well," Yi said.
A total of 47 confirmed cases have been cured and discharged from hospitals in the city while 46 are still in treatment as of Thursday, according to the city's health authorities.
"I really want to thank doctors and nurses, not just for their medical treatment, but their physiological care," said a patient in Nanjing.
