During the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, Jiangsu Province led the nation in both the box office revenue, at 1.001 billion yuan, and attendance, with more than 19 million viewers.

This marked the first time that a provincial-level region in China surpassed the one-billion-yuan threshold in box office revenue during the holiday. In the period, China's booming film industry reached a new milestone, with nationwide box office revenue reaching a staggering 9.51 billion yuan and 187 million viewers.

The animated feature "Ne Zha 2" led with an impressive 4.84 billion yuan in the country. It was followed by "Detective Chinatown 1900" and "Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force".

China overtook North America in total box office revenue in January, according to the data released by the China Film Administration. Notably, Jiangsu again ranked first nationally with a monthly revenue of 660 million yuan and more than 13.61 million viewers.
