With one day to go at the Chengdu Universiade, China registered a record 103 gold medals.
CHENGDU, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- After most competitions concluded on the 10th competition day, China registered a record 178 medals including 103 golds at the Chengdu Universiade here on Monday.
Chinese divers bagged four more golds in the men's platform, mixed team, men's team and women's team, as they swept all 15 golds of the sport, along with five silvers and one bronze. South Korea finished second with four silver and four bronze medals.
China's swimmers also claimed four more golds on the last swimming match day and set two FISU records in the women's 50m freestyle and men's 4x100m medley relay.
Having secured all gold medals in her previous seven events in Chengdu, Olympic champion Zhang Yufei added two more to her collection in the women's 50m freestyle and women's 4x100m medley relay.
