HUANGSHAN, Feb. 15 -- For more than 600 years, localsofWangmantian Village have the tradition to make fish-shaped lanterns to celebrate the Lantern FestivalinShexian County of Huangshan City, east China's Anhui Province. From the 13th to the 16th of the first Chinese lunar month, villagers hold fish-shaped lanterns parade every night to pray for harvest and good fortune.
The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Chineselunar calendar when a full moon appears. It features family reunions, feasts and various cultural activities.
