A nuclear power station in east China's Shandong Province has achieved simultaneous generation of power, heat and desalinated water.
Jointly built by Shandong Nuclear Power Company (SDNPC), a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), and Tsinghua University, the multifunctional facility was put into operation in Haiyang, Shandong Province, on Tuesday.
Combining desalination and heating systems, the technology is expected to reduce the cost of city infrastructure construction and operation while improve energy efficiency.
