- For the first time in 84 years, Colorado Democrats swept everything in the election.

- The biggest political upheaval occurred in Arizona. The traditionally red state not only voted for Biden, but also flipped another seat by putting former astronaut Mark Kelly in the U.S. Senate.

- Nevada is another key battleground. Local officials announced they would not report counting result until Thursday morning.

DENVER, the United States, Nov. 4 -- Street front businesses in downtown Denver remained boarded and a police command center stayed on the alert: "the election is not over yet," an officer told Fox News.

"Violence has changed from possible to probable," a Los Angeles law-enforcement officer told NBC on Wednesday, as vote counting in the Midwest was favoring Democratic chances to retake the White House.

America's 2020 presidential election, where a record number of votes were cast by mail, was not decided on Election Day, and few predict it will be finalized for many days.

"We will not know on Wednesday who the next president will be," Nick Pinto told Xinhua. The 27-year-old young man performed music on Election Day outside the town hall of Carbondale, a small town with over 6,000 residents in the state of Colorado, to encourage people to vote.

Indeed, with a handful of states not predicted to finalize vote count for a few days, and with many states delivering razor-close victories to both candidates, possible recounts could take weeks, U.S. election officials said.

COLORADO DECISIVE

Just one hour after polls closed on Election Day, the Colorado Sun called the Democratic sweep in the Centennial State.

"For the first time in 84 years, Democrats in Colorado will control every statewide elected office, both chambers of the legislature, both U.S. Senate seats and the balance of the state's U.S. House delegation, while also winning the state's presidential vote," the news website noted on Tuesday night.
