China's CPI up 2.4 pct in May

BEIJING, June 10 -- China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 2.4 percent year on year in May, the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday.

The rate eased from the 3.3-percent growth in April.
