Jiangsu Province is celebrating its Bird-Loving Week from April 20 to 26, with an awareness campaign launched at Hongshan Forest Zoo in Nanjing on April 21.

At the event, it was announced that as of March this year, Nanjing had recorded 389 bird species, with over 100 newly identified in the past decade.

Notably, during the city’s birdwatching competition held on April 19 and 20, 135 participants from across the country recorded 183 bird species within 24 hours, setting a new record. This year marks the ninth consecutive edition of the competition.
