The Start of Summer, one of the 24 terms in the traditional Chinese solar calendar, begins on May 5 and ends on May 19 this year. During this period of seasonal transition, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will gradually enter the rainy season while temperatures continue to rise.

In Nanjing, temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius on May 10. Here's a collection of dishes to beat the heat in Nanjing.
