Cao Youlin: China-UAE cooperation will make industrial park a success

The China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Park(ICCDZ), located in the Khalifa Industrial Zone, Abu Dhabi, is a major cooperation project to implement the important consensus reached between leaders of the two countries and serve the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Jiangsu Overseas Cooperation and Investment Company (JOCIC) is responsible for the investment, development, operation and management of the ICCDZ, which began infrastructure construction in May 2018.

The ICCDZ has so far built the business service center, road and pipeline network, and customized industrial plots (Phase I) and living service areas (Phase I). Cao Youlin, deputy director of the ICCDZ’s Property Management Office, has personally engaged in the park’s growth from a blueprint into reality.

Cao said 30 enterprises in the industries of building materials, metallurgy, metal processing, fine chemicals and other fields have signed the framework agreement to settle in the park. The first factories in the park have basically finished equipment installation and are currently in the process of testing and debugging.

The park has also introduced a series of measures to facilitate investment, such as "green channel" with streamlined services, so domestic enterprises can apply for business licenses and opening bank accounts without visiting the park.

Living in the UAE for about seven years, Cao said he has the habit of starting with the little things to get a job done. He also said he always remembers his role as a Chinese manager and hopes help more foreigners understand China.
