Australian teacher Sian Ann Bray stays committed to teaching in Xuzhou

Sian Ann Bray from Australia was happy to celebrate her birthday on May 3 with friends in Xuzhou City of Jiangsu Province although the party was two weeks late for COVID-19.

She’s happy also because her favorite restaurant has reopened after the city overcame the latest COVID-19 resurgence.

"I didn't expect life to get back to normal so quickly, but Xuzhou responded to the epidemic swiftly and in an orderly fashion," she said with a smile as she cut the cake.

With a university major of language science, she changed several jobs before becoming a full-time teacher of English at Sun Yueqi Honors College, China University of Mining and Technology in 2016.

Committed to teaching quality, Sian is ready to integrate new materials into the classroom and keep her class interesting so students can get the best. In seven years, many students have benefited hugely from her class before studying abroad.

After the COVID-19 outbreak hit Xuzhou last month, Sian began offering online class to students. She has quickly adapted to the new environment because she’s eager to make more efforts and go the extra mile in uncertain times.

Sian also said she herself is also taking an online course by a university in Australia now and hopes this training will improve her teaching of English in practice.
