Tadashi Nagara, general manager of NGK Ceramics Suzhou Co Ltd, has won the May 1 Labor Medal in Jiangsu Province. 

He said the award is of particular importance to him as 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan relations and also the 21st anniversary of the founding of the company in Suzhou, which mainly produces ceramic products for automotive exhaust gas purification.

Nagara visited Suzhou for the first time in 1988 and has worked in the city for nine years. He praised Suzhou’s good business environment, favorable investment policy and quality services from the governmental departments, such as the provision of accurate information. 

The company's sales revenue reached new highs in the past three years, with the total profits and taxes in 2021 at one billion yuan.

Nagara said safety, quality, happiness of employees and their family, and efficiency are four core parts of career. He doesn’t want staff to spend all their energy on work. In his view, it’s important to spend time with family and employees with a happy family work more effectively.

During the May Day holiday, Nagara said he will work from home and think of the future plans. He hopes every hard-working employee will have the opportunities for advancement and can realize their value in working.
