The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway will officially commence operations on December 26.

Extending 164 kilometers, the railway connects Shanghai Hongqiao Station, passes through Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, and ends at Huzhou Station in Zhejiang Province. Designed for speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, the route includes eight stations to serve the bustling region.

Construction of the line, which includes 38 bridges, began in June 2020. The railway is now ready for operation following extensive testing, safety evaluations, and optimization of its communication and signaling systems.

As a cornerstone project in the Yangtze River Delta’s high-speed railway network, the new line will expand regional interconnection, streamline travels, and contribute to the high-quality development of the delta region.
