Nanjing announces new friendship ambassadors

Nanjing announced the fifth batch of Zijin Friendship Ambassadors of Nanjing Urban Internationalization on November 18.
In the appointment ceremony held at Nanjing City Wall Museum, Vice Mayor Ji Tiejun, and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Nanjing Municipal Committee Jin Weidong, presented certificates to the newly appointed ambassadors.
Since 2020, Nanjing has recognized a total of 60 Zijin Friendship Ambassadors through this program, named after the city’s Zijin Mountain, or Purple Mountain. They have actively participated in Nanjing’s international cooperation and exchange activities in various areas, contributing to the city’s open development and global connections.
Nanjing has attracted investors from 130 countries and regions and has established sister-city relationships with 106 cities in 58 countries.
The city has also introduced multilingual guidebooks to help expatriates integrate into the local community. During the ceremony, the 2024 edition of the In Nanjing: Service Guide for Foreigners was donated to representatives from eight international economic and trade institutions in Jiangsu, including the Nanjing Chapter of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China, the Australian state of Victoria, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The multilingual guidebooks were also distributed to international students from 16 universities, including Nanjing University, Southeast University, and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
