Nanjing's spring travel season focuses on flowers
On February 17, Nanjing's Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism collaborated with several local agencies to launch spring travel offerings centered on flower viewing and cycling.
The Zhongshan Scenic Area recently unveiled its plum blossom viewing events, which will run until mid-March. Visitors can enjoy over 20 activities, including spring outings, themed tours, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and cultural exhibitions. Notably, a newly renovated area will feature scenes inspired by Dream of the Red Chamber, one of China’s Four Great Classical Novels.
In Lishui District, the Fujiabian village will enhance the plum viewing experience with firework displays, performances and night markets, providing a variety of night-time entertainment. The district’s 2025 marathon with a theme of strawberry is also set to start on March 2.
The Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area launched its annual signature flower viewing event on February 18, which will continue until June 3. The event showcases a succession of blooms, starting with the plum blossom season from mid-February to early March. Following this, visitors can appreciate orchids, cherry blossoms, tulips, peach blossoms, peonies, Chinese wistaria, rose, aquatic flowers and jasmine.
