Yancheng's cultural heritage items showcased in Vietnam

Yancheng's traditional crafts took center stage at the City Partnership Forum 2025 opening ceremony in central Vietnam this week, marking China's latest cultural diplomacy effort under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Artisans from Yancheng of East China's Jiangsu province presented six UNESCO-recognized heritage items at Danang's APEC Park exhibition hall, including intricate porcelain carvings and symbolic tiger-head shoes. The display attracted over 500 attendees from ASEAN nations during its inaugural day.

Yancheng's intangible cultural heritage products not only showcased the charm of traditional Chinese handicrafts but also served as a cultural bridge connecting with the ASEAN. They enabled Vietnamese and other ASEAN friends to gain a deeper understanding of Yancheng, and experience its profound cultural heritage and unique charm. At the same time, it was also an important measure for Yancheng to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Looking ahead, Yancheng will continue to promote its intangible cultural heritage products to go global, enabling more people to get to know Yancheng and fall in love with it. Driven by continuous cultural exchanges, the friendship between Yancheng and the ASEAN will grow deeper, and the cooperation fields will become more extensive.
