(CFP)

Jiangsu Province has announced its first batch of 11 pilot zones for the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) across several cities.

The 11 zones include Suzhou Industrial Park, Wuzhong District, and Xiangcheng District in Suzhou, Xinwu District, Xishan District and Wuxi Economic Development Zone in Wuxi, Liyang and Wujin District in Changzhou, Jiangning Development Zone in Nanjing, Yangzhou Economic Development Zone, and Chongchuan District in Nantong.

Also known as intelligent connected vehicles, IoV integrates technologies such as 5G, AI, Big Data, cloud computing, and blockchain. Jiangsu has included the IoV industry as a key part of its strategy for developing advanced manufacturing clusters.

The pilot zones generally boast strong industrial foundation and distinct features. For instance, Liyang’s production of power batteries accounted for 13.7% of the national total, ranking first among counties nationwide, and 37.8% of the provincial total last year. Chongchuan hosts over 40 enterprises in the IoV industrial chain. Meanwhile, Yangzhou Economic Development Zone is home to 44 IoV-related enterprises, with the industry’s output surpassing 20 billion yuan in 2023.
