The 2024 Nanjing Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference was held in Shanghai on November 7, marking the first time for the city to host supply and demand matchmaking session within the China International Import Expo (CIIE) venue.
As a neighbor of Shanghai and a megacity in the Yangtze River Delta region, Nanjing is the only city in Jiangsu that houses both the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the comprehensive demonstration zone for expanding opening-up in the service sector.
While its core industries such as steel, petrochemicals, automobiles and electronics continue to develop steadily, Nanjing is also seeing expansive growth in emerging and future industries, such as intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, new energy, new materials, artificial intelligence, and low-altitude economy. In 2023, Nanjing's regional GDP reached 1.74 trillion yuan, ranking among the top ten cities in the Chinese mainland.
At this matchmaking event, exhibitors from France, South Korea, and Germany made presentations. Domestic and foreign companies signed cooperation agreements worth over 3 billion yuan, covering electrical appliances, medical devices, agricultural products, healthcare, and beauty products.
