Jiangsu releases lists of top private enterprises, 10 with annual revenue of over 100 bln yuan
The Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce announced the 2024 rankings of top private enterprises during an event held in Yangzhou City on October 29.
This marked the sixth consecutive year that the organization has published the lists of the Top 200 Private Enterprises, Top 100 Private Manufacturing Enterprises, and Top 100 Private Enterprises in R&D Investment.

Among the Top 200 Private Enterprises, 10 reported revenues exceeding 100 billion yuan while 21 enterprises had revenues between 50 billion and 100 billion yuan. Hengli Group, Shenghong Holding Group, and Shagang Group secured the top three spots with revenues of 811.7 billion yuan, 528.8 billion yuan, and 277.7 billion yuan, respectively.
"The threshold for entry into this year's Top 200 list reached 7.7 billion yuan, an increase of 154 million yuan from the previous year. The average revenue also rose by 1.15 billion yuan to 38 billion yuan," said Liu Cong, chairman of the federation.
The Top 200 list revealed that 135 are in the manufacturing sector. On the Top 100 R&D list, 92 are manufacturing enterprises, primarily in electrical machinery, computer, communication, and pharmaceutical sectors. Both lists demonstrate Jiangsu’s continued role as a manufacturing powerhouse.
The total number of R&D personnel in the Top 200 reached 142,300, an increase of 1,000 from the previous year, while total R&D spending amounted to 105.968 billion yuan, an increase of 1.299 billion yuan. On the Top 100 R&D list, four companies invested over 5 billion yuan, and 27 companies invested over 1 billion yuan.
From an industry influence perspective, the top 200 private enterprises own 76,000 valid invention patents and 34,600 valid trademarks. They have led or participated in the development of 395 international standards, with 44 enterprises involved in the construction of national-level technological innovation bases.
In the first three quarters of this year, foreign trade by private enterprises increased by 10.5%, raising their share of the province’s total to 45%. Private enterprises have become primary driving force behind the province's foreign trade growth.
