Global silicone giant Starlim opens plant in Nantong
A new plant of Starlim, the world's largest manufacturer of liquid silicone products, celebrated its opening in Nantong City on October 11, with an estimated annual production capacity of up to 500 million high-performance elastomer seals.
With a total investment of 30 million euros, the plant will focus on producing silicone parts using injection molding for the fields of mobility and life sciences, while aiming to provide high-quality, efficient, and personalized services to customers.
Nantong currently has five Category-1 ports, five national-level development zones, and three international cooperation parks, with trade partners across 206 countries and regions. It has become a preferred destination for foreign investment.
As part of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Nantong Industrial Park, the China-Austria eco-park is a flagship cooperation project between the two countries, established in 2015, which has attracted many high-end manufacturing enterprises from German-speaking regions. For example, Starlim, headquartered in Wels in Upper Austria, opened its first facility in the Asia-Pacific region in Nantong.
Wels mayor Andreas Rabl said that the two cities share common values - a focus on industrial development, innovative ideas, and an international perspective. He also noted that a closer cooperation not only create economic synergies but also promote cultural exchanges, leading to a win-win situation featuring technological innovation, industrial advantages, and cultural diversity.
