Suzhou announces China’s first local regulation on low-altitude air traffic
Suzhou City introduced a local regulation for traffic control in the low-altitude airspace, the first of its kind in China, during a meeting on July 13.
Formulated by the Suzhou Municipal Transportation Department and research institutions, the regulation was announced by the city’s low-altitude economy development leadership group and will come into effect on September 1 this year.
The regulation, consisting of 8 chapters and 37 articles, stipulates air traffic rules in various areas such as services, operations and flight activities.
The regulation is expected to facilitate the development of a one-stop service for low-altitude flights in Suzhou, maximize the comprehensive use of airspace resources, and help maintain safety at various levels. It will also support the city’s vision to become a powerhouse of the low-altitude economy.
