Jiangsu sees steady growth in air passenger and cargo traffic in Q1

In the first quarter of the year, Jiangsu’s nine airports handled 14.8 million passengers, an increase of 27.7% year-on-year, and 163,000 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 23.4%, both indicating a steady growth trend.
Among them, Nanjing Lukou International Airport completed a passenger and cargo throughput of 7.4 million and 100,000 tonnes during the period, marking year-on-year growths of 29.1% and 21.9%, respectively.
The passenger and cargo throughput at Wuxi Shuofang Airport stood at 2.48 million and 37,000 tonnes, up 22.8% and 23.5% year-on-year, respectively.
Nantong Xingdong Airport handled 940,000 passengers and 14,000 tonnes of cargo, registering growths of 29.8% and 47.9%, respectively.
The nine airports operated 34 international and regional flights in the first quarter, which registered a total passenger throughput of 860,000, a 229.5% year-on-year increase.
