Jiangsu’s 2,930 enterprises with 6,218 booths are participating in the 135th session of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, which opened in Guangzhou on April 15. The number of participating companies and booths at the fair both set new records.

Jiangsu enterprises generally boast a high level of technology and distinctive industrial advantages. Some are from industrial hubs, such as motorbikes in Wuxi, building materials in Changzhou, and home textiles in Nantong. Some well-known enterprises also held new product launches.

This session set up exhibition areas for cross-border e-commerce and overseas warehouses for the first time. Suzhou organized a city-themed display area, highlighting its competitive industries and foreign trade enterprises.

Zhou Xiaoyang, deputy director of the province’s Commerce Department, said that Jiangsu’s foreign trade in the first quarter increased by 9.1% year-on-year but is still facing complex and severe challenges. Commerce authorities in the province are planning to optimize services for trade enterprises, Zhou said.
