This initiative is supported by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province, and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government.
The launch ceremony saw online attendance from 1,254 teacher representatives across ten ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei, alongside representatives from 41 of China’s vocational education colleges.
The program forms part of Jiangsu’s contribution to the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges, aiming to bolster China-ASEAN education cooperation. It also promotes the high-quality development of combining Chinese language studies and TVET.
In October 2020, NJUIT was recognized as the first Chinese + TVET international promotion base by the CLEC. NJUIT is also tasked to develop teaching materials and resources for the initiative.
This project will establish 13 venues across ASEAN countries and also select 30 individuals from the 1,254 online participants for a 2-week visit to China. Participants will receive certificates upon completing the training.
