92nd anniversary of September 18 Incident commemorated in Nanjing
The Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders in Nanjing hosted a series of activities on September 18 to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the September 18 Incident that marked the start of Japan's invasion of China.
Representatives of the descendants of the Nanjing Massacre survivors, young people, the military and the memorial hall’s librarians attended the on-site activities.
The event began with a national flag-raising ceremony at 9:18, during which attendees sang the national anthem. At 9:25, six representatives struck the Bell of Peace, urging people to remember history and value peace. Then at 10:00, air raid sirens sounded in Nanjing, and visitors at the memorial hall’s square stood in silent tribute.
