Nanjing Institute of Technology launches new school with University of Oulu

Nanjing Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the University of Oulu in Finland jointly unveiled the NJIT-OULU School on June 16.

Leveraging the advantages of both sides, the school aims to cultivate high-level engineering and technology talents with an international perspective while focusing on application.

In his speech, Tapio Koivu, Vice Rector for Education, recalled the friendship between China and Finland and the good relationship of exchange and cooperation between the two universities, and called for closer cooperation in scientific research and training of master's and PhD students.

Olli Suominen, Senior Specialist in education and science at Finland's Embassy to China, acknowledged the long-term and stable cooperation between the two countries, and highlighted the nearly 7-year collaboration between the two universities. He also noted that the Bachelor's Programme in Software Engineering, a joint initiative, is currently the largest international education program for the University of Oulu, receiving significant attention from students.
