BRI Youth Sports Exchange Week wraps up activities in Huai'an

Nearly 300 students from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) participated in a series of activities at the 2023 BRI Youth Sports Exchange Week held in Huai’an City from May 26 to 29.

The activities included an orienteering training camp, a men's 3X3 basketball invitational, and outdoor sports challenge.

On the last day of the camp on May 28, participants overcame obstacles in Hexia Ancient Town, a scenic area, with the help of maps and compasses to finally reach their target points. The ancient buildings and winding stone paths at the venue left a deep impression on the young participants from various countries.

The outdoor sports challenge featured Frisbee, drum-striking, rock climbing, hiking and other events. Participants also visited the Li Canal Cultural Corridor, the Youth Sports and Cultural Center, and a wharf used for grain transport in ancient times.

The sports exchange week served as a platform for young people from BRI countries and regions to compete in sports. Moreover, they gained a better understanding of the province’s culture and history as well as China’s development.
