Jiangsu exporters benefit from China-Uganda AEO customs agreement
The customs agreement on mutual Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status between China and Uganda will go into effect on June 1, providing more trade opportunities for manufactures of farming machines in Jiangsu Province.
The AEO system, initiated by the World Customs Organization, aims to facilitate customs clearance for enterprises with outstanding records in terms of legal compliance, credit rating, and safety. Under the agreement, companies that obtain AEO status in both countries will enjoy simplified customs procedures, such as reduced examination or prioritized clearance, when exporting products to the other country.
Changzhou Machinery Import & Export Co Ltd has enjoyed the AEO recognition for five years. Zhang Qiugang, the company’s general manager, said, “We fully enjoy the favorable measures, including priority inspection and customs clearance, and this increased efficiency means more stable production and delivery capacity. Customs clearance in countries (with which China signed mutual AEO agreements) becomes very smooth, helping to reduce logistics costs."
Jiangsu Changfa Agricultural Equipment Co Ltd has also benefited from the AEO status.
