The China Story and New Paradigm for International Communication forum opened in Nanjing, the capital of East China's Jiangsu Province, on April 21.

Directed by the Bureau of Cyber Communications of Cyberspace Administration of China and organized by the China Daily website, the forum aims to tell Chinese stories through the lens of expatriates. The event invited content creators, communication experts and leaders from government bodies, mainstream media outlets, business websites and social platforms to exchange ideas and facilitate cooperation.

The forum focused on three topics: creating a new force of international communication featuring diversity, promoting exchanges between civilizations and innovating a new communication narrative, and leading change while building a new landscape of international communication.

The forum also launched the "China Storyteller Partnership", an initiative to encourage more foreigners with ties to China to put a personal touch in telling various engaging stories of the country to the global audience. Other programs included sharing the best practices in international communication and highlighting recent achievements, including those based on short-video app Kuaishou. The forum hoped to promote innovative efforts to expand China’s global communication and outreach.
