Jiangsu has six of China's top 30 innovative cites

Jiangsu Province has six cities ranked among the top 30 in the country in the 2022 National Report on City Innovation Capability Monitoring, released by the Ministry of Science and Technology on February 15.
Among the six cities, Nanjing rose from 4th to 2nd place, while Suzhou ranked 7th.

Innovation-driven cities refers to those with strong innovation capabilities, prominent roles of scientific and technological resources, high levels of sustainable development, and a significant contribution to the regional growth. The ministry launched the initiative in 2010, and the latest report added new indicators, such as the number of students in universities and high-level scientific and technological professionals.
Jiangsu has 13 cities recognized in the initiative. The top 10 cities in the report are Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Suzhou, Changsha, Hefei, and Qingdao. Additionally, Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhenjiang, and Yangzhou in Jiangsu ranked 12th, 15th, 24th and 30th, respectively.
The Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) also released the National Evaluation Report on City Innovation Capability.
