Tai’an-Taixing section of China-Russia gas pipeline operational
The section of the China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline project between Tai’an in Shandong Province and Taixing in Jiangsu Province become operational on December 25.
With a total length of 5,111 km, the cross-border gas pipeline enters China via the border city of Heihe in Heilongjiang Province and runs south through Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and other regions to reach Shanghai. The project includes 3,371 km of newly built pipelines, and it’s the third cross-border gas pipeline in China.
The Tai'an-Taixing section is 750 kilometers long and is expected to supply 18.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.
The station in Taixing has become a major hub after expansion as it also connects the domestic west-east gas transmission and supply through the sea, according to a manager of the Jiangsu section.
