Jiangsu enterprise provides TCM books to primary schools in Papua New Guinea

The subsidiary of China Jiangsu International in Papua New Guinea (CJI-PNG) has recently provided new books “Little Shennong’s Herbal Adventure” to the island country’s Mope Primary School and Vunavavar Primary School.

As China’s first cartoon book about traditional Chinese medicine in both Chinese and English, it was named after Shennong, a mythological figure who tasted hundreds of herbals to determine their medicinal value. The book was also featured at the Jiangsu TCM International Conference held in Nanjing on November 21.

Entrusted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, CJI-PNG provided the books in a ceremony held at the government building in the province of East New Britain. CJI-PNG also donated 30,000 kina (59,000 yuan) each to the two schools to help improve the teaching conditions.

Yin Guohua, general manager of CJI-PNG, said Jiangsu has provided important support to the development of East New Britain, also the starting point of CJI in the country. Yin also said CJI-PNG as a bridge of friendship has constantly delivered care and assistance from the people of Jiangsu to the PNG province.

The governor of East New Britain appreciated the great help of Jiangsu and CJI-PNG to boost the region’s social and educational development. He also hoped for strengthening the exchange and cooperation between the two provinces and wished the two countries ever-lasting friendship.
