Intelligent connected vehicle competition holds finals in Suzhou

The finals of the second China (Jiangsu) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition took place in Suzhou Industrial Park on July 14.

The event was hosted by the Jiangsu Association of Artificial Intelligence, the Jiangsu Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Innovation Alliance and the Jiangsu Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Centre.

Among the 110 participating teams, 24 made it to the finals after four regional ICV competitions.

The finals consisted of two categories for the start-ups and growth companies respectively. The judges included experts from renowned universities, enterprises and R&D institutes.

The event also marked the opening of the Jiangsu Provincial Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Innovation Forum, which released a white paper on the province’s talent in the ICV industry.

The report showed Jiangsu is home to more than 500 enterprises and research institutes in the ICV industry, which cover 11 fields including environmental perception and software systems. A full-fledged industry ecosystem is taking shape in the coastal province while it builds a solid foundation for technological innovation.

In 2021, Jiangsu enterprises in the ICV industry saw a total business revenue of 100 billion yuan and they took the national lead in several fields including high-performance computing chipset, algorithms for automated driving, testing and verification. Those enterprises are mainly located in Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Nantong, Changzhou and Yancheng.
