Liyang donates pavilion to German sister-city Fulda
Liyang, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Changzhou in Jiangsu Province, has donated a beautiful pavilion to its sister city Fulda in Germany in celebration of the region’s 200th anniversary.
The pavilion is located in the idyllic Palace Garden in Schloss Fasanerie, a beautiful baroque palace in the south of Fulda.
Song Chao, deputy director of Liyang’s Foreign Affairs Office, said construction of the pavilion in Chinese traditional architectural style started in February and completed in late March, with parts then transported by the China-Europe freight train to Germany and assembled locally.
Since entering into sister-city relationship in April 2016, Liyang and Fulda Region have enhanced cooperation in trade, education and people-to-people exchange. In 2018, a delegation led by the district’s head and Fulda’s mayor visited Liyang to promote trade partnership. In addition to helping each other in COVID-19 response, the two regions have also kept close communication via many ways, such as online meetings.
