Shanxi promotes tourism resources in Jiangsu
North China’s Shanxi Province held another culture and tourism promotion in Nanjing, capital of East China’s Jiangsu Province on April 16, following the previous on at Laomendong Historic Block on April 13.
Shanxi aims to attract tourists from Nanjing, Hangzhou and Shanghai, key destinations in the Yangtze River Delta region, a dynamic economic hub in the country.
The landlocked province boasts a rich cultural heritage mixed with natural wonders, home to iconic attractions including Yellow River, Great Wall and Taihang Mountains. The province is also known for a large number of historic buildings and a booming healthcare industry.
A vivid presentation of the rich tourism resource of the province, a major cradle of Chinese civilization, was displayed with remarkable photos. The province’s cities including Changzhi, Taiyuan, Datong, Linfen, Jincheng and Yuncheng, also introduced their distinctive tourism attractions.
In 2021, Shanxi’s 75 scenic spots will also introduce a preferential policy for visitors whose ID is registered in Jiangsu, Zhejiang or Shanghai, enabling them to be exempt from paying the main ticket.
Li Gui, deputy director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism said that the program is first launched to target at tourists from the delta region as it has a strong economy, well-developed tourism industry and strong purchasing power. In the next year, the ticket policy may be expanded to cover more regions and benefit both Chinese and foreign visitors.
