The ro-ro/container ship Grand Abidjan departed from the Taicang Port Area of Suzhou Port on April 20, bound for Durban Port in South Africa, marking the launch of the first direct oceangoing ro-ro/containership route from the Yangtze River region.
The route is currently serviced by two vessels operating one voyage per month, with primarily stops at Lagos in Nigeria and Durban in South Africa, opening a trade channel for enterprises in Suzhou and the Yangtze River region.
The ro-ro/containership ship is a multipurpose vessel capable of carrying containers above deck and accommodating construction machinery and vehicles below deck, offering a more competitive logistics solution for the export of automobiles and engineering equipment.
