The sixth plenary session of the 14th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee was held in Nanjing on May 30.

The meeting stressed the importance of prioritizing high-quality development and fostering new quality productive forces in Jiangsu’s efforts to effectively pilot the Chinese path to modernization. Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, spoke at the meeting.

According to the meeting, Jiangsu will strive to consolidate economic recovery and growth momentum, deeply comprehend the mission of fostering new quality productive forces and Jiangsu’s roles in major national strategies, enhance innovation, and strengthen industry and supply chains for a new development pattern.

Jiangsu will be committed to building industrial S&T innovation centers with global influence, building up major S&T platforms, facilitating the application of S&T achievements, and encouraging enterprises to take the lead in innovation.

In addition, Jiangsu will promote deep transformation and upgrading of industries, concentrate on the development of the real economy, advance new industries, and establish internationally competitive manufacturing bases.

Jiangsu will also comprehensively bolster green and low-carbon transformation in achieving the dual carbon goals, and continue to enhance sustainable development. The province will create internal drivers for development and steadily expand institutional opening up. It will coordinate efforts to build a new regional development pattern, transforming the Yangtze River city cluster into a pilot area for fostering new quality productive forces. The province will support the marine industry in its coastal economic belt, green development in the Jianghuai Ecological and Economic Zone, and the role of Xuzhou as a central city in the Huaihai Economic Zone, and fully integrate into the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy.

The meeting noted that Jiangsu will continue efforts to optimize talent development environment, boost employment and entrepreneurship, improve public services in education, medical treatment, housing, elderly care and childcare. It will enhance efforts to build beautiful countryside and advance the common prosperity of farmers.

Furthermore, Jiangsu will strengthen the protection of cultural relics and heritage, improve its museum system, and integrate culture and tourism.

Jiangsu will also strengthen the rule of law, improve public safety, and effectively protect property of the people.
