The final girder for the main span of the Changzhou-Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge was successfully installed on May 29.
Measuring 14 meters long and 35 meters wide and weighing about 800 tonnes, the girder marked a construction milestone after the installation started 16 months ago.
The 10.03-km bridge links Changzhou and Taizhou cities in Jiangsu Province. It is the first bridge that integrates expressway, ordinary highway and inter-city railway across the Yangtze River.
Set to have the largest span for a cable-stayed bridge in the world, the bridge will play a crucial role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
