LG Energy Solution announced on December 22 the establishment of its China headquarters in Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, during the 2024 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference (WIMC) held in Nanjing.

It marks the 10th LG company to be based in the development zone. The headquarters will oversee the accounting, taxation, legal, logistics, and procurement operations of LG Energy Solution’s subsidiaries in China, manage cross-border cash pooling, engage in the research and development of batteries and materials, and manage investments across the industry chain.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the collaboration between the development zone and LG Energy Solution, which broke ground for its first battery factory in 2004 and continued to invest in a series of projects.

At the conference, the development zone’s management committee pledged to deepen cooperation with LG Energy Solution for industrial transformation and upgrading, technological innovation, industry chain integration, and market expansion.
